In my Public Relations Campaigns course at Gaylord College, our semester client was OPENWATER Sports' Boathouse in a Box, a community-driven initiative under Riversport America that brings accessible water sports directly to underserved communities across the country. By activating unused waterfronts, Boathouse in a Box creates gathering spaces that unite people through sport and shared outdoor experience. With the 2026 Canoe Slalom World Championships on the horizon and Oklahoma City positioned to host events for the 2028 Olympics, the campaign carried real momentum and genuine potential to elevate Riversport's profile on a national stage.
Serving as Writing Director for our team, Anchor PR, I led the development of our campaign's written strategy and messaging. When we presented our final campaign book to the client, Anchor PR took first place! This project was one of the most rewarding of my academic career, offering deep experience in campaign development, collaborative strategy, and research.
